Derp! My Little Pony Nail Polishes from Hot Topic

Along with my Adventure Time merch, I also picked up some clearance My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic nail polishes. I think there are more polishes to this collection, so I only have 4 of the colors: DJ PON-3 (dark blue), Derpy (light purple), Fluttershy (light pink), and Applejack (bright red).

These colors were primary but were great in terms of opacity. I’ve worn almost all of them, and I love them as cremes. Nothing special, but not a total bust. If you love MLP, you’ll pick these up. Some of them were almost perfect in just 1 coat.

It’s Adventure Time! (A Makeup Haul)

The following was purchased with personal funds.

1. I love Adventure Time. (I was LSP for Halloween last year.)
2. I still shop at Hot Topic. (Hey, they’ve got some cool stuff.)
3. Adventure Time + Hot Topic? (So there.)

A few months ago, I saw some Adventure Time nail polishes at Hot Topic, but I didn’t pick them up. Last month, Hot Topic had a BOGO free sale on clearance accessories, and some Adventure Time beauty stuff was there. Let’s just say, this is probably the one and only time I’ll do an Adventure Time makeup haul. (However, if they ever have any more makeup collections, I’ll pick it up!)

You know I just picked this up because I love Adventure Time. My favorites are the Princess Bubblegum lip balm (bubblegum flavor) and the polishes (pretty opaque for basic colors). The other lip balms are kind of weird because they’re tinted, but they don’t show up as tinted (fun colors like blue and green). I have not tried the eyeshadows yet- they look cool, but it’s kind of hard to pull off a Jake the Dog eye look. Mathematical!

Uniqlo + Disney Maxi Dress

The following was purchased with personal funds.

I looooooove Uniqlo. I wish I had a store here in Orlando, but until that day, there’s online shipping. Uniqlo is a great shop for basics and funky collaborations, and I’ve ordered several pieces for my family’s multiple trips to Disney. Now we own several Disney and Pixar tees, and I ordered a maxi dress to wear during the 24 hour kick-off for Disney’s Monstrous Summer on May 24th. That happened to be our wedding anniversary as well. :) The dress was on sale for $9.90 at the time, and I added a sash and cut a slit on the side. While it’s not the cutest thing, I got so many compliments from castmembers and park visitors!

ELF Get the Look Beach Beauty

The following was purchased with personal funds.

Hello!

First off, long time no see! Back again, and I’ve had a nice vacation from the blogging world. As always, please follow me on Instagram @niftyba – I updated that almost daily!

Second, lookie: eyeshadow! On the same day I purchased the Sinful Colors from my past post, I picked up this ELF palette that was near the same shelf. I love ELF. It was one of the first beauty brands I tried when I got into makeup, and most of their products are great for the price. It’s the affordability that lures you in. I haven’t purchased ELF in a long time, but $6 for a compact palette is tempting.

This is the ELF Get the Look Beach Beauty Day palette. It has 28 pieces, including eyeshadow, blush, bronzer, lipgloss, and applicator.

I tried on a couple shadows and a lipgloss. You can’t tell very much, but I’m wearing a pink glittery shadow and a green eyeshadow. My thoughts? Great for a travel palette. All you need in one place, and I end up choosing palettes like this when I’m traveling light. I do not wear blush or bronzer, so I cannot discuss those, but for $6, the shadows are nice and I was surprised about the lipgloss. I am wearing the darkest color from the palette on my lips, and it is a very nice berry shade.

Milani Red Jewel FX

The following was purchased with personal funds.

This took a bit of work to take off- I forgot how glitter just loves to stay stuck! I wore this for 5 days,
and chose it because I was doing to Disney. I always love red and black for Disney trips! This is Milani Jewel FX in Red over WnW Black Creme.

Sinful Colors Sizzling and Shock and Awe

The following was purchased with personal funds.

My favorite thing to do after work, besides going straight home, is to head to Target or Wal-Mart for a bit and wander. Yes, I would have been on my feet for 8 hours before that, but another hour wouldn’t hurt me. I usually stock up on craft supplies or food, and I almost always stop in the beauty section.

7 minutes before Target’s closing time the other day, I saw some new Sinful Colors polishes in display. I don’t know if they’re exclusive to Target, but I heard a while ago that these polishes were popping up. The shades themselves looked familiar, but after a hard day, I decided to treat myself to 2. I picked up Sizzling (pink) and Shock and Awe (blue). I say “pink” and “blue,” because that’s as talented as I am when it comes to descriptions, but they’re so much more than that. The formulas were like crellies (cream jellies), and the colors were bright, but my camera did not capture them correctly. Gorgeous nonetheless!

The colors are not unique, but the quality of the formula and application make it a no-brainer choice at only $1.99 each.

Wet n Wild Black Creme + Essie Camera

The following was purchased with personal funds.

It had been a long time since I’d worn black nails, but I always love the way they look. I wore Wet n Wild Black Creme with accents of Essie Camera to add a summery touch. Neons being difficult to capture, Camera comes off as looking very red.

Knockout Nails

The following was purchased with personal funds.

I am the laziest nail person out there. I do my nails, but I don’t moisturize at all. I have nail polish, but I never put it away. And I own a fancy Knockout Nails system, but I never use it. Lame! I was up early one day last week, and decided to break it out for the first time this year. It’s been month since I used it, since last August exactly. I like Knockout Nails, and even though the upkeep is just every couple of weeks, I usually just let it fade away and then file it all off after a few months. It’s quite easy and fast, though, and Knockout Nails works really well for those who need extra strengthening. This is what a proper care manicure is for me– I should do it more often!

New Hair

A few weeks ago, I cut my hair again. It had been about four months (forever long, in my book!), and with this new trim, most of my bleached hair is gone. Back to black. I took advantage of 1/2 cuts at a newly opened Floyd’s 99 Barbershop near my neighborhood. Obviously I felt out of place (I’m not cool, yo!), but I felt good afterwards.
