A Trip to the Sears Outlet

So, I shop at Sears.

It’s not as weird as everyone…… well, nevermind, it kind of is. You’ve got your comfortable cotton basics and the toolbox classics just as you remember, and that’s part of the charm of Sears. Something for the whole family. Who else has a set up like that? (No one else comes to mind, but I don’t often shop for yard equipment.) Sears gets a bad rap BUT man, their sales are da bomb. I am not ashamed to say I got such and such from Sears or Kmart. I will buy a deal from anywhere as long as it’s affordable and cute.

One step below Sears would be the Sears Outlet. Orlando has one, and I’ve only been there once 7 years ago to look for house appliances with my then boyfriend’s parents. I didn’t really go to Sears back then, but fast forward 6 years and I go all the time. I even have the Shop Your Way rewards card– I mean business! I don’t buy anything full price unless I need to (Five Guys work shoes), and I love the end-of-season sales. I have a friend whose mother works at the local Sears Outlet and I asked if she got anything there. Nah. Oh, well, more for me.

I made my first visit back today for FREE APPAREL TUESDAYS. I’m sorry, did you say free? As a rewards member, I often get e-mails containing a coupon for receiving a free piece of apparel on that specific Tuesday. You can even forward the coupon to friends, and make sure they have a rewards card to use it. I’ve never used one before, but I made sure to get ready for work early and see what I could find.

What did I get? A Land’s End Canvas skirt, denim sleeveless top, and a swimsuit.

How much did I spend? Less than $3.

I found this flier in my bag. Even if the place looks kind of awkward… it’s really nice to know they feel this way. Regular Sears are not even like this.

My visit worked out pretty well. I shop at Sears a lot, so I recognized stuff from the winter season. It was marked down okay, but then sometimes it was marked down even a few dollars more. I was lucky because the shirt and the skirt were 75% off the outlet price, and the swimsuit was my free piece. LOVE THAT. I wouldn’t go often, but then again, a free piece of clothing? There were a lot of good tank tops there, and they even had some Land’s End and LE Canvas. Dig around and find some treasures.

  1. The reason the parking lot is so full is because they have a sears call center in that building. They hire ALL THE TIME because of such high turnover. Lots of college kids from Full Sail and the like work there. The pay, if I remember correctly, is around $10 an hour but it is also cold calling, like telemarketing, so a lot of people don’t like that. Anyway, there is your little trivia for the day. Sweet finds and super sweet final total.
