Well, guys, it happened.

I broke a nail.

I do not have a hard time saying goodbye to things. I love this line from 500 Days of Summer, about how Summer loved only two things: “The first was her long dark hair. The second was how easily she could cut it off and not feel a thing.” I can feel the same way about hair, nails, and luckily, those things grow back! No sadness there. In general, there’s no emotional attachment for me and things, which is why I am in charge of ridding the house of all things we hoard.

I didn’t mean to break a nail. I’m hard on them at work, and they’re pretty strong, but I sliced the nail while crafting at work. It was a small slice, but I couldn’t save it and I finally tore it off last night. Back to nubbins for now… but in a different way: square. My nails do get pretty long, and I do love rocking the stiletto nail. Note to the wise, however: NOT practical for putting on pantyhose.

Beginning of a new era. Everyone else seems to have squared nails these days… I’ll try it out for a while. Also need to work on my cuticles, sheesh. Have a lovely Monday!
